“Zakopane – the heart of the Tatras”

– this slogan best describes the character of our town. Nestled in the only alpine mountains in Poland, where snow lies everywhere sometimes from November to May, Winter sports are not only a pleasant pastime, but a basic feature of “Poland’s Winter Capital”, as Zakopane is called by fans of the white stuff.
Its location and climate give Zakopane excellent conditions for mountain sports, both in summer and winter, suited to professionals and amateurs. It’s also worth mentioning Zakopane as a destination for climbers. The best Polish climbers of the Alps and Himalayas cut their teeth on the Tatras.
